PERFORMANCE TUNING MODERN MOTORCYCLES. Having purchased a Suzuki GSXR1000 K7 and being highly impressed by the performance which was more than adequate,especially as I’m an instructor for the AMCC at ART days for training in Groups 3 and 4.After some prodding from friends,I decided to delete the twin mufflers and catalytic converter to save a little weight,hence I fitted a Yoshimura muffler and an intermediate pipe by Peter at Custom Chambers with the oxygen sensor fitted to aforementioned pipe.Having been a mechanic I knew the fueling would be incorrect without all the previous restrictions.I had contacted Igor from Teka Tune and having checked out his previous customers had him tune my bike.The brief was I needed no extra power but wanted the bike to run clean i.e. not lean or rich.He adjusted the ECU,(having no need for a power commander),removed the servo motor and cables to the flapper valve in headers and put in a resister to gain full advance in all 6 gears instead of 5th gear only.The end result was amazing,more bottom end (6th gear at 50kph full throttle no problem),mid range (unexpected wheelies),top end hit (14000 rpm on stock gearing top gear back straight of Pukekohe.)Incredible results from a guru who has a wealth of experience.I would recommend Igor 021880157 for performance tuning,even if you only need advice as he is extremely helpful at myth busting the bullshit from the paddock.I feel people in the industry doing top work need recognition we all hear about the tuning disasters,it’s good to have a success story.Anybody wanting any further information see me at the ART track days or call 0212614674 or 09 4733227,cheers Greg Sharpe.

Suzuki SV1000s
I have a Suzuki SV1000s and it has Yoshi pipes and a K&N air filter. Igor was able to retune to smooth out the engine and increase fuel economy - I get around 22 kms per litre on a trip.
2001 GSX1300R Hayabusa
I came across Igor working out of a reputable motorcycle garage on Auckland's North Shore and quickly got to talking about my Busa and the work I had done to her over the years. I had Igor fuel map "my girl" and immediately noticed the flat spots on accelerating had disappeared. I first met Igor at Haldanes as he did the service work and all other work required I my Aprilia RSV1000 Factory and also my Ducati 1198S bikes which I owned simultaneously I recently purchased a Suzuki GSXR 1000 K6, and once Igor discovered that I had acquired another bike, he gave me a run downon the
speciality tuning service that he could offer, and his considerable practical experience with the GSXR machines.As basically all my riding is road riding with the possible odd tract day I was a little sceptical on the real benefit , as I was not planning to race the bike. However after a few discussions, Igor convinced me that a remap would have a significant difference.My requirements and instructions to Igor were quite
simple;
- increase low to mid range power [ the GSXR1000 has enough top end for my road riding skills ]
- stop the '' hunting '' at idle [ probably caused by the Yoshi can fitted without changing the standard
mapping ]
- make a very ''smoooooth'' throttle transition between'' off '' and the start of roll on. [ this was a very high priority ]
- any improvement to fuel economy would be a bonus but not a requirement.Well after a couple of thousand ks after Dr Igor has attended the K6s brain, and I can say that I am totally happywith the out come It goes better, in fact when you are in 6th gear it almost like the drive I got
from 4th before Igor waved the magic wand over it.The idle is good , but most importantly the'' off '' throat to ''on'' throat roll on is great, and as a bonus the economy has improved.I would unreservedly recommend the Motofreak Igor, the best money I ever invested in a ''tune up ''If you would like to have a chat, please get my contact details through Igor

Having just upgraded to 05 ZX6RR I was stoked with it. not knowing to much
about how a bike should feel at its best.
A friend put me onto Igor as he uses him and had good things to say.
So I dropped it in, told to give the once over, check and correct. He found
faults for previous owner plus wear & tear, fixed it all.
When bike came back it was completely different. 100% change in all areas,
so much power the front wheel lifts now.

My bike is now totally different story.
No more holes in acceleration, pulls much stronger launch control is something wonderfully :) A sense of the gas is something that I have not experienced .. Perfect ... There is no recoil, no hiccups, no holes ... Terrific.
